Here is the updated info about the game and the schedule of
events
LASER WAR
Welcome Warriors from across the Empire.
You have been selected By the Warlords of the Dominion
Empire to compete for the right to live and serve in the
Empire’s military.
You were chosen because in your futile rebellions or
hopeless defense of your home worlds you showed some
glimmer of talent that might be of some use to us. For this
reason alone you were spared immediate execution. You may
have heard the phrase, “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em”.
Well this is your chance.
You have been brought to this planet to test your military
skills in a series of “games”.
You will be using simulated Dominion weapons because we do
no trust you yet with the real thing. There will be a
briefing on how they work following this introduction.
You will score points for completing certain tasks and
outcomes of battle. Those who score in the highest 1/3 of
points will be allowed to advance to actual combat
training. Soldiers who survive a full term of service will
become full voting citizens of the Empire and be allowed to
own property. Medal of Honor winners will be allowed to
have children.
Those scoring in the middle 1/3 will be allowed a second
chance at the games, because maybe they were just having an
“off” day.
The lower 1/3 will be shipped off to the mining colonies to
labor for the rest of their lives. The good news is most
only live for a few months, the lucky only a few weeks!
You will receive 1 point for living through a game (win or
lose)
You will receive 1 point extra for being on the winning
team (alive or dead)
So basically each game you could earn 0, 1 or 2 points per
game.
There will be multiple games today
The more organized and prepared you are between games, the
more games can be played and the more opportunity to earn
more points. Fun! Fun!
You may also earn extra points by completing side mission
based on your “role playing” cards. This is optional.
After a game, each player will be allowed to talk to the
Hologram Referee (Peter Montgomery) or their team leader to
spend their points on a “Power – up” to get better
equipment.
*** If you die in any game, YOU LOSE ALL YOUR POWER-UPS ***
In the next game you will be a level 1 again.
Players may switch teams and can be traded.
Weapon Briefing
The game weapon simulates the standard laser /shield gun of
the Dominion Army.
The gun fires a laser beam and also projects a force field.
When the gun is out of energy ammo, you may return to base
for more ammo.
If your shield runs out of hit points, the next one will
result in your player death.
No living creature can survive a single shot from a laser
without the shield.
You may return to base or an energy “medic” prior to your
running completely out of shields and charge up before
actually taking a fatal shot.
If you take a fatal shot, you can be revived if you hand a
Team leader your Respawn card.

Game Details
Re-spawn/Extra lives etc –
We all came here to play some tag, not sit around waiting
for the next mission.
So recharging/re-spawning, etc helps a lot.
But there has to be penalty for failure.
Giving up terrain and walking back is fair enough.
The number of players and re-spawns per team are balanced,
or intentionally unbalanced so we need to keep track.
Also there is something to lose for dying and we need to
track that too.
*Each player will be given one playing card at the
beginning of each game.
To re-spawn a player must hand his card to the medic or
General.
(Additional re-spawns can be awarded by the general, but
these do not require a re-spawn card from the player)
*The player will be re-spawned with the same power up level
as he was at the beginning of the game.
*At the beginning of the next game, any player that
re-spawned (that would be anyone with out a playing card)
will be reset to the lowest power level.
The Executive Officer (XO) for each team will check off on
the clipboard/roster a point for each player that shows him
his re-spawn card.
The Executive Officer (XO) for each team will check off on
the clipboard/roster a point for each player that was on a
winning team in game that just ended.
Buying Power ups
Players may spend their points to buy power ups
Spent points are circled to show they were spent, but still
need to be readable for counting points at the end of the
day
Power Level Cost
1 Free
2 2 points
3 Level 2 plus 2 points or 4 points
4 Level 3 plus 2 points or 6 points
other games that can be played
Bounty Hunter-Leader of the Pack
Each player is a Bounty Hunter and also a Bounty
Each player will be given a playing card and a reset key
If he is tagged out he is to stand still and be “claimed”
The 1st player to physically touch him on the shoulder will
be given his card.
The claimed player is now his “minion, lackey, henchmen,
stooge, etc”
The minion may reset and the new team may continue hunting
The players of the team MUST STAY WITHIN VISUAL CONTACT AT
ALL TIMES
If the Bounty Hunter leader of a team is tagged out, he may
be claimed by another Bounty Hunter who still has a card
(not one of his minions, once a minion always a minion).
Note that all of the minions do NOT have to be tagged out
too, just the leader.
That BH who claims the leader will also receive his all of
his Minions
This will be a 30 min timed game
The game can end sooner if one player gets everyone on his
team
Bounty Hunter’s Paradise
Each player is a Bounty Hunter and also a Bounty
Each player will be given 3 playing cards and a reset key
If he is tagged out he is to stand still and be “claimed”
The 1st player to physically touch him on the shoulder will
be given his card.
He may run off, hide and then reset
When a player is out of cards, he is out of the game (no
minions)
Player with the most cards wins
