Equipment Guidelines
These
guidelines are NOT rules. This is a
place to write out what we see as peoples expectations of certain types of
gear. If you have something that you want
to bring that doesn’t seem to fit easily into these guidelines, just ask about
it on the TagCon Mailing list. We just
don’t want people to by “tech’ed out” by too high a degree without being able
to balance the scenario.
There are technical rules about the
guns, so most of this is about range expectations and style. The basic functional test is to see it the
gun can hit a StarSensor from 2.5 meters (8 ft. 3 in.). For this year, we won’t bother with ammo
restrictions, muzzle flash or reload times
Sensors
There are technical rules about
sensors, too. The basic functional test
is to see if you sensor will take hits font and back from a un-lensed StarLyte
2.5 meters (8 ft. 3 in.) away in direct sunlight. Everyone will have six hits.
Wide fires, Shotguns, Grenades
shots. Whatever you call them, and
group that has gone on long enough has used them. The best set of guidelines is to remember that in the woods, they
go everywhere. Some people consider wide
firing with tethered gear unfair.

organizers approval.
This was discussed on the TagCon
Mailing list:
In games with
night scopes, we don’t use flashlights, as that can damage some of the
inexpensive scopes.
